Review: Boomslack Designs and Shirts

I caught wind of this via Tweeter - yep, finally came in handy for something.

Boomslack is a very cool site setup by some up and coming graphic designers.

It showcases their t-shirt designs as well as their design graphics. These run about $24 - $30 USD for each shirt with shipping depending on your location. They do not have a middle man, so you are getting them directly from the source - the Designers themselves.

I decided to actually drop some coin on them for the entire family and here are the designs we are getting.

Who got an Asteroid named after them?

You know you will be remembered for all eternity when they name an astrological object in your honor.

I saw this tweet by J-List last night and had to post it here to share with everyone. It seems that Hideaki Anno got an asteriod named after him - talk about an honor. I really would of thaough a Star would of better suited him though. Still, a very nice thing to be done for someone.


For some background on Hideaki, he is most recently famous for being the director for Neon Genesis Evangelion. Before that he was an Animator for some great movies and shows like Macross, Gunbuster, Grave of the Fireflies and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

New Japanese Craze Hits America . . .

. . .  ERASERS????

I was walking in a mall in Frederick,MD and saw a sign on a Hallmark Store. It read "NEW Japanese Erasers For Sale". Now I had to check it out to see what was up.

They had boxes and shelves full of them. They had animals and vehicles, all in different colors and shapes. My son ended up getting a Blue Dolphin. The lady behind the counter told us they were fun to collect because the animal heads would come off so we could mix and match them - what a demented mind she had! I didn't think much of it until we went to a A.C.Moore (an arts & craft store) and found them there as well - it was an invasion!

Since they are made in Japan, they got the name "Japanese Erasers". I have only really seen these in specialty shops, but was quite surprised to see these in main stream shops. They have been around for a while and now seem to be a new trend here I suppose. They are reported to be quite safe and kids love to collect them. I think my son paid $1.29 for his.

I forgot to take a damn picture of these, so here are some shots I found over at Iwako USA some of the items.

Kristen Durst as Akihabara Majokko Princess

In Danny Choo's email last night, I thought I was seeing things. As I am sure not everyone subscribes to him, I wanted to get this out to you. It is a music video staring Kristen Durst as the Akihabara Majokko Princess. This is done to the famous song by The Vapors in 1980 called "Turning Japanese".

I have seen other actor(esses) play roles in Japanese commercials and on games shows. I thought this however was done just like a video and could be played on MTV tomorrow if they wanted. I am not sure if Kristen would want that, but you never know.

Wacky Japanese - 450 Pairs of Stolen Pantsu

I can't grasp the need to do this, but I guess it is the excitement of it. A guy got caught in Fukuoka prefecture taking women's pantsu out of the dryer (or washer, but pretty sure it was a dryer). They were they able to get him thanks to a surveillance camera at the laundromat. I guess it is also standard practice (I think) that they showcased all 450 pairs to the media.

Honestly Dude, you need a girlfriend.

The USB Device for Gamers who are Single

While I was doing some research on another blog I am writing, I found this little electronic device. This is not that new, but still one of the strangest devices I have ever seen for a sex toy.

So the premise seems to be that this device interacts with the game designed by those that created School Days / Cross Days. Now depending on the games action, the "machine" will change its speed of it action.

Here is where they suck the money out of your wallet > The SOM is not included with the game - WTF! You will need to hand over about 45,000 yen (or 25,000 yen for the Puchi) if you want to get the real life experience.

Wacky Stuff from Japan, Vol 8

Here is another installment of my Wacky and Fun Stuff from Japan. I know these may not all be "wacky", but what the heck, not something you will see here in the US.

I have seen blue liquor, but never blue beer. It was created by Abashiri Brewerly and called Okhotsk Blue. From the text, the wanted to try to imitate the " Sea of Okhotsk in winter romantic". It is a Malt beer with 5% alcohol and is selling at $27.63 for a 6 pack. I have to admit that I would like to give this one a shot.


They also offer a Green and Red Beer at their site (in Japanese).

We all know how crowded city;s can be. Sometimes this makes it hard to get everyone from point A to point B. I have seen building knocked down for new roads to new buildings. However, I can say that I have never seen anything like this in our city. This is a shot where the office building gives way to the highway in Osaka.

Tate's got some new Japanese food in and I will be giving some feedback later in the week on what I got. But I did want to post something about something I got. I will be reviewing Green Tea Coke. They also had the Pepsi brand of Green Tea soda, but me no like PissPee - so me no get.

So my first impression was it had a nice designed label. The coloring was your normal soda color and I was glad it was not green. The taste however did leave me flat. It was like drinking Coke Zero which really has no taste. But then after a few seconds, you got the green tea flavor. Kind of weird and not something I plan to get again.

When was the last time you used a product in the shape of POOP? Especially when you want to take a nice hot relaxing bath - hummm? Well how about a nice rose scented poop shaped bath block? I am sure that my wife will NOT want this in her bath, but somewhere in Japan, someone is enjoying this.

Just when you think men's underwear have seen every form. You have to figure someone will go that extra step. Now the G-String for Men with as much exposure as possible. I am a Boxer Brief person and no how on this Earth will I ever be caught in these. I have no idea how someone could where these as the "sack" is so small on these.

Here is another installment of my Wacky and Fun Stuff from Japan. I know these may not all be "wacky", but what the heck, not something you will see here in the US.

Want some gum to give you a kick in the ass? Then get yourself some Black Black gum! It contains oolong tea, ginseng, and vitamin B3. This is used by people to stay focused on tests and projects. It was once featured in an issue of Wired Magazine for it's endless energy that it provides to those who chew it. Jean Claude actually did a commercial for this gum as well.

Has anyone actually tried this and does it work?

This is something that I believe has actually made it over to us in the US. It is called Itasha in Japan or just simply known as Anime Show Cars. It really showcases someones love for an anime, manga or video game as the characters are all over the car. If I have the cash in hand, I would love to actually do this to my car. The only question is, what anime or manga do I pick?

In the US, you would send your kids to the market to get dinner. The question is how old would they be to be out on their own? I know I was sent down when I was about 10 to 12 years old to a neighborhood convenience store to get something.

In Japan the age is far more younger that (for a TV Series that is). This originally aired on Monday night (7/20) and was called “Hajimete no otsukai” (”First errand”). It films small children as they are sent on errands. The show involves 2 cute kids by the name of Masaki (5 years and 2 months) and his little sister Saika (2 years and 10 months). They are asked to pickup the ingredients for a Beef Stew Mom is making for dinner.

Now if this was in the US, the parents would be arrested for Child Endangerment and a slew of News Shows would be reviewing this over and over again to get public reaction. Sort of like the Grandmom that had her niece sitting on the outside of the moon roof as she drove around a parking lot.

Wacky Stuff from Japan, Vol 5

Here is another installment of my Wacky and Fun Stuff from Japan. I know these may not all be "wacky", but what the heck, not something you will see here in the US.

I have to thank Danny Choo on this little "tip" bit for my food section this week. It is called Oppai Purin or Bust Pudding and is noted on the box in English stating: "Only who knows this taste can really appreciate it". The outside of the box "hints" to what awaits you, but the reality of it is too damn funny.

After opening the box, you are presented with a lovely girl wearing a paper bra. Unhook the bra to show you 2 pudding cups with lovely pink nipples. It also comes with some syrup to pour on them and a cuple spoons. This is a gift that should be shares since you get 2 of everything. There are different girls that may surprise you when opening up your box as not all of them are the same as shown below.

The Japanese really love their bikes. I did a write up originally of the love of Dekochari Bikes in my first blog of Wacky Stuff from Japan. But this is more about the everyday Japanese person. I know this may not seem "wacky", but you will never ever see something like this in the US. Due to ease of moving around a big city like Tokyo or the countryside, a bike would be more advantageous to have than a car.

There is a large variety of types of bikes. It seems that there is an issue in Japan with bikes being dumped and never picked back up. This has lead to an even bigger wholesale market for those that dump them. Most people ride at a leisurely pace, but many move quite fast through crowds which is illegal in some parts of the city. Some have baskets that allow for groceries or shopping bags. For the Moms, they have ones with baby seats in back allow for children up to 4 or 5 to ride.

Now this old fashion trend would be great in the US, but the rapper guys already took this to a different level. I would love to see the Ultra Low Bikini Jeans sold here. But knowing my damn luck, some chick who is way wide loaded would wear these and think herself sexy - ARGH!

So if you have an Ultra Hot Girlfriend or know a stripper, these would be something you would add their X-Mas list. Will set you back $95 bucks (plus shipping), but would be well worth it> you can get them from SANNA's website.

Here is another installment of my Wacky and Fun Stuff from Japan. I know these may not all be "wacky", but what the heck, not something you will see here in the US.

As always, lets start off with the food section of the Blog. How about a herb flavored soda (not that herb you freak!)? It seems that both Coke and Pepsi jumped on this band wagon with some releases recently. Coke came out with a Green Tea flavor and Pepsi came out with a Basil flavored soda. Not sure how these taste, but if anyone has, please let me know.

When your toys become a reality, you really need to step back to appreciate it.This was started in 1998 by a 60 year old Japanese man by the name of Takahashi. This 15 ton robot which was named Kabutom MX-03 is an eleven meter long monster. It even comes with a control panel and can even be remote controlled by the driver. If fully reminds me of a Zoid from the Anime. The video is in Japanese, but like noted, a picture is worth a thousand words, so enjoy.

Can I get that 3D Oppai Mouse Pads super-sized so I can lay on it? Well, sure you can and thank you for asking. This is a boob pillow for the PC dating sim Da Capo II. There are actually 2 version of this and you can check them both out at Broccoli's site. Seems to be a great item for those of us that are tired at the office. Would love to see my Human Resources reaction if they saw me napping on this "pillow".

Another installment of Wacky and Fun stuff from Japan.

Ice Cream, we all scream for Ice Cream. Now I know you are thinking, how can ice cream be wacky. Well it can be wacky if it is Wasabi Soft Serve Ice Cream. Yes, you read it right! The stuff that burns your mouth when eating sushi was turned into a soft serve ice cream. I know there are other flavors like Green Tea, Sweet Potato, Sesame, Houjicha (Roasted Green Tea), Citrus and Sea Salt to name a few. So not Chocolate. Plain Vanilla or Mixed (Chocolate/Vanilla) for them.

This is a follow up to my initial installment of Dekochari Bike with the Dekotora Trucks. Now these put our Monster Trucks to shame in the US. These are totally decked out in chrome and lights that would scare children as thinking they are monsters in the night. If you check out Wiki, you find that there are actually 3 different styles. The are called Retro, Kansai and Kanto, but not sure how the styles differ.

So last time I did the bikes, now we move up to the Custom Scooter. This link also has props to tokyo scooter stuff, so I need to do the same. I have seen these in Japanese trade magazines and really wanted to get one myself. I have seen some cool ones here, but some of the designs are stunning. Most of these are of the Suzuki Skywave or the Honda Forza. Not sure if I will ever see this level of custom on any of the scooters in the US.

Need a new mouse pad to keep your wrist correctly positioned. Then you have to get one of these wonderful 3D Oppai Mouse Pads with build in cushions. They have plenty at J-List for you to pick from (must be 18+). I must warn you however that I do not think these should be ordered for work. I have been trying to find a Yoko in her bikini top with no luck at a good price. These will set you back $40 or more in cash, but ohhhh how your wrist will love you.

Wanted to start a new post that will review those Wacky Japanese stuff that you never would of thought of yourself.

Hungry and want a bigger breast, try F-Cup Cookies. They come in a wide assortment of flavors like Plain, Chocolate, Strawberry or Peach. You just need to eat 2 cookies a day. They come in packs of 4 with each cookie containing 50mg of a herb called Pueraria Mirifica. It is suppose to develop the mammary gland and increase of breast fat.

These movies featured trucks heavily chromed with cool lighting.
