Kuroshitsuji II: Claude Faustus and Alois Trancy

Just as Alois Trancy is the literary foil of Ciel Phantomhive, Claude Faustus also contrasts Sebastian Michaelis in order to highlight various features of Sebastian’s personality. Claude is more indifferent, hardly ever showing any emotion, and a perfectionist who has complete control over the other household servants. Unlike Sebastian, Claude never seems to attempt to stop Alois from doing anything unjust or inappropriate.

Kuroshitsuji: Sebastian Michaelis 07

The Phantomhive butler who prides himself in his ability to handle every impossible task, Sebastian Michaelis has been known to use silverware as his weapon of choice in battle. He uses forks and knives as projectiles and is always able to make his mark, with the exception of death gods and  fallen angels. Sebastian is also an extreme cat lover, to the point of ignoring Ciel’s words to comfort a stray cat.

Kuroshitsuji: Ciel Phantomhive and Meirin

A young master and his clumsy maid, Meirin was employed into the Phantomhive household in order to gain a new life and protect Ciel. Meirin is a talented sniper who does not need to use a scope due to her sharp, far-sighted vision. She was given glasses by Ciel in order to limit her vision and keep her from getting distracted in her work.

Kuroshitsuji II: Alois Trancy 03

Alois Trancy’s real name is Jim McCain, an abandoned orphan along with his younger brother Luca. Alois was angry at the villagers who mistreated them and thus began wishing for their deaths. Luca believed in him, stating the his brother could do anything he wanted. One fateful night, Alois’ wish came true, at the price of Luca’s life.

Kuroshitsuji: Ciel Phantomhive 06

After his parents were murdered, Ciel Phantomhive become a slave and a sacrifice for a religious cult ritual. While he was being tortured, however, his hatred grew for the people who took away his parents and freedom, summoning a demon Ciel named Sebastian Michaelis. It was then that Ciel sold his soul to the devil in order to gain the power to fulfill his revenge.

Gorgeous cosplay! Even if the hair is white instead of gray, I think it’s a minor error which can be overlooked. Originally found on Tumblr.

Kuroshitsuji: Sebastian Michaelis 06

The Phantomhive butler that can do everything no matter how impossible it may seem, Sebastian Michaelis is demon bound to Ciel Phantomhive by a Faustian contract. His demonic self has yet to be revealed, but a depiction of sharp teeth, high-heeled boots, and elongated nails have been given. His present appearance bears a striking resemblance to Ciel’s father, Lord Vincent Phantomhive.

Kuroshitsuji: Drocell Cainz 03

The Mandalay Family's Puppeteer, Drocell Cainz initially appeared to be a cruel man with sadistic tendencies. Grell Sutcliff later reveals that the real Drocell has his soul seized by the shinigami five years prior to his appearance in the series, thereby indicating that he was already dead. His body was somehow reanimated with a temporary soul, manipulated by the fallen angel, Angela.

Kuroshitsuji II: Alois Trancy 02

Alois trancy acts as a foil to Ciel Phantomhive; a literary term for a character who contrasts with another character (in this case, Ciel) in order to highlight the various features of the other character’s personality. Ciel actually cares for people and causes while Alois is psychologically scarred, pathologically abusive, and calculative. By appearance, Ciel is seemingly indifferent, while Alois is quite energetic.

Kuroshitsuji II: Alois Trancy

Earl Alois Trancy has a tendency to shift from being a carefree and happy child to a morbid and manipulative individual. Like Ciel Phantomhive, he has formed a contract with a demon known as Claude Faustus. However, that is where their similarities end; as Ciel thinks of Sebastian Michaelis as his Knight/Servant, Alois is completely dependent on Claude.

I did not like the second season of Kuroshitsuji very much, but I do love how this cosplay turned out. Thanks to Flight for suggesting to feature *juunana of Deviant Art!

Kuroshitsuji: Ciel Phantomhive 05

Although usually appearing to be emotionless, Ciel occasionally expresses his concern for the well-being of those who are close to him. He sometimes portrays himself as a happy person especially when undercover, but soon returns to his true self. Ciel is highly reliant on Sebastian, his butler, and does not appear to interact with the other servants of the Phantomhive Household as often, although they are all devoted to him.

Beautiful cosplay! The attention to detail is stunning and I believe this an artwork from the series’ soundtrack or drama CD. Thanks to Kuro-chan for sending this!

Kuroshitsuji: Drocell Cainz 02

According to Grelle Sutcliffe, Drocell is butler and puppeteer who thinks he is a human being. He controls the dolls based on kidnapped little girls with the lullaby "London Bridge" from his music box in order to please his master. He has a faint realization that he is not human when he had "white stuff" falling from his ear.

Cosplay Holic reader Vea sent me a variety of Sweden's convention photos, and it would appear that I have a lot of work to do! This is one of my favorites, from Uppcon:10 which took place from the 9th to the 11th of April 2010. Thanks again, Vea!

Kuroshitsuji: Drocell Cainz

A character who only appeared in the anime adaptation, Drocell Cainz used the Hope Diamond in order to kidnap chosen girls and turn them into dolls. He lured Elizabeth Middleford, Ciel's cousin and fiance, with the lullaby "London Bridge" from his music box. Drocell claims to be human but later had "white stuff" falling from his ear suggesting that he too was a mere puppet controlled his master, who is still unknown at this point.

Kuroshitsuji: Doll

The beautiful and enigmatic tightrope walker, Doll is among the First Tier performers of the Noah's Ark Circus. Although the First Tier have special tents set up for them, she pretends to be a new male member known as "Sobakasu" or Freckles, as she doesn't like sleeping alone. She later attempts to take Ciel's life for killing her circus family, but fails to do so thanks to Sebastian. Her fate after that is left undetermined.

A demon and a butler, Sebastian Michaelis formed a contract with Ciel Phantomhive to abide by his master’s will in exchange for his soul. He is required to do whatever Ciel commands, including becoming his personal bodyguard. Sebastian bears a striking resemblance to Ciel’s late father, Lord Vincent Phantomhive.

Kuroshitsuji: Ciel Phantomhive 04

The young Earl of the Phantomhive household, Ciel runs the Funtom Company which manufactures toys and sweets, and later, a food branch as Sebastian obtained the Royal Warrant. He enjoys drinking tea and sweet desserts, and is even known to distinguish different types of tea. Ciel also has asthma, the same with his mother, and is a proficient hunter, presumably like his father.

Beautiful cosplay! I always loved to see Ciel smiling rather than expressionless. Good job on the details!

Oh, hello there.

I think people may have noticed I had to take down the shoutbox for a while. My site was getting a virus alert and I think someone may have left it there.

Also, I have noticed a lot of people are fighting in my comments lately, and saying unappropriate things. Which is sad when my shoutbox has a lot of good comments.

Kuroshitsuji: Ciel Phantomhive 03

Losing everything he had at a very young age, Ciel makes a contract with a demon he calls Sebastian Michaelis to gain his revenge in exchange for his soul. He is portrayed to be emotionless and driven to achieve his goal by any means necessary. However, as the series progresses, he confesses to being the way he is so that he will not lose anything, or rather, anyone important to him ever again.

I believe there's a similar manga illustration that shows Ciel holding a skull. I can't remember which chapter that was though. It makes me wonder if that thing the cosplayer is holding is a real skull.

Kuroshitsuji: Agni and Prince Soma Asman Cadart

An arrogant Prince from India, Prince Soma Asman Cadart came to England in order to find his beloved maidservant whom he saw as an older sister. He did not realize that Meena had run away due to his spoiled nature and chose to become the rich wife of Lord Harold West.

His loyal servant, Agni, wishes to keep this secret away from his master, whom he saw as his god for saving him from death and giving him new life. Though his intentions are pure, Sebastian and Ciel shows him that he can not and should not protect his master from reality in order for his master to see the world for what it truly is.

A rather impressive display. I was glad that Prince Soma learned from his mistakes and grew up, even if it was just a little bit. Beautiful detailed cosplay!
