Cosplay Interview: Alouette Cosplay

Here is another Cosplay Interview with another wonderful Floridian (yes, the are called that - but not to their face). It seems I have been getting many lovely cosplayers from that region. Makes me wonder if that is all where they live. I have to say though, you would have the most cons there as the seasons pretty much stay the same.

Stop rambling dude and get to the cosplayer - OK!

We have another great cosplayer who goes by the name of Alouette Cosplay! Here is another person that goes the full gambit and does not limit her cosplay themes. I love it when we see cosplay that would not necessary be in the norm (Princess Tutu, Repo! The Genetic Opera and Zone-00).

Now she does not only do Anime, but also Gaming and Comic Book cosplay. This range of cosplay helps to hit all the type of cons that are out there so you can really get some exposure if you wanted. One thing I noticed was her smile. You can really see the excite she has when doing this and it really shows with the wonder smile she has.

One other thing, I did notice that she tends to go with characters with color combination's of Black, Red, or Pink in most of her cosplays.

With that said lets get to the interview and seeing all the stunning cosplay she has done.

What is your name and where do you reside?

I go by Alouette Cosplay, formally EvaNoJutsu cosplay. I live in central Florida. :)

What first started you on the road to cosplay?

When I was in elementary school I was introduced to Sailor Moon and Tenchi in Tokyo. Since Id been playing pokemon since gameboy colors all of it sort of blending together making me a fan of video games and anime before I really knew what that was.

In middle school I found out about a local con, AFO, and saw the word cosplay pop up. Googling it, I realized that when I dressed up as DC comic characters and Scooby Doo characters at my young age I'd been 'cosplaying'. I realized this is something I wanted to be more involved in and bought my first cosplay for AFO. I even went with a broken foot! From then on, I've been hooked!

What characters have you cosplayed and why?

Well my very first was Mello from Death Note. I cosplayed Tamaki (Ouran Highschool Host Club), Near (Death Note) and Chi (A Christmas version from Chobits) shortly there after because they were my favorite characters at the time. My last bought cosplay was Haku (Naruto) because I loved that show and I bought a Gaara cosplay for my 7 year old brother because it was his favorite character! (there's a story behind the rest of these, but I'll spare you guys and just list the rest haha!) Ringo - Air Gear. Marluxia, Kairi, Vexen, and Christmas Town!
Xion - Kingdom Hearts Series, Soubi and Ginka - Loveless, Princess Kraehe - Princess Tutu Chell - Portal ,

Amber Sweet - Repo! The genetic Opera (fun story, I actually got to meet Terrance Zdunich in it!!)

Oerba Dia Vanille - Final Fantasy XIII Madame Red - Kuroshitsuji Tsugai Kogarashi! Meiko, Classic Meiko, Clock Lock Works! Miku - Vocaloids Poison Ivy and Black Canary - DC comics Benten - Zone-00 Black Rock Shooter - Original Artwork Design from Vocaloids Ballgown CC - Code Geass Katniss Everdeen - Hunger Games Fem! Blue Scout - Team Fortress 2

What conventions or shows have you cosplayed at and have you gotten
any awards?

I've cosplayed at cons like Anime Festival Orlando, MetroCon, MegaCon, ZonaCon, Anime Day Orlando, Otronicon, and ChibiPa. I've entered contest at Metro as BRS, AFO as Princess Kraehe, and Otronicon as Chell. The only awards I've won was at Otronicon with Best Use of Duct Tape and 2nd in best Video Game Character.

I'm very proud of my Best Use of Duct Tape award ;D

When not cosplaying, what do you do?

When not cosplaying I dance... A lot!! I've been a competive dancer and ballerina for 14 years of my life. It's a really huge part of my life that I love. But if I'm not dancing OR cosplaying I love fencing, reading, horror movies, ghost hunting/ urban exploring, playing Fallout, photography and playing the cello :)

For any aspiring cosplayers a little shy, what words of wisdom do you have for them to get started?

It's okay to be nervous and shy! I remember I was terrified before my first cosplay, what of people thought I was a horrible cosplayer or looked down on me for wearing a cast to a con? I was so nervous! But trust me, once you get that wig on it's like putting on a hat that calms your fears. I remember clearly as soon as I walked in the con, a girl ran up and complimented me on my outfit and the fact that I still cosplayed even with a cast!! Most people you meet are very kind and supportive.

Go out there and have fun, because in the end that's all that cosplay is about: fun! :)
