Blog Highlight: conspicuous klu[x]

This was a new addition to the Blog Roll. She left me a comment on one of my blogs, so I checked out her blog. I have to say I love the layout and cool stuff she writes about. Hell, anyone that has an intro like hers you have to add them:

"klux is an animetard who writes animu/mango reviews, mindrape and rants that can be interpreted as junks by others but sparks of brilliance to few special ones. She is also a beginner at collecting figures."

In her own words, she is a "Bleachtard". If you are a big fan of Bleach, then you have to stop by and check out her reviews. Another cool concept she has is her "Dairy of an animetard". I am going to have to steal, I mean, borrow this concept. I read Manga or watch Anime usually every day myself.

She also has an impressive list of Anime she has or will watch and Manga that she has read. If you have a moment, shoot on over to conspicuous klu[x] !

Hellsing: Sir Integral Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing

hellsing cosplay - sir integral fairbrook wingates hellsingAt the young age of 12, Integra inherited her family’s mission to the lead the Royal Protestant Knights and protect England due to her father’s death. Arthur Hellsing had hoped his brother, Richard Hellsing, would support his daughter in this mission, but his jealousy got the better of him and he proceeded to hunt Integra and kill her.

Little did he know that Arthur had a corpse of a vampire in the Mansion’s Sub Levels, Alucard, who became Integra’s salvation and servant.

Wow, she’s so intimidating! I guess Alucard making her wait doesn’t make her happy? The wig’s a bit messy, but I still like the overall look. Great work!

Vacation Update

I wasn't sure I would be able to blog while on vacation, so it is nice to keep this rolling along.

I finished my Manga shopping last night with picking up Fairy Tail #8 and WagWag #2. Since my son was helping me get the leaves picked up and taken to the back garden, I got him the Bakugan Maxus Dragonoid. Not like he already doesn't have like 50 or 60 of these things. I have yet to give it to him as I like to torture him.

Maxus Dragonoid
I am also going to treat him to Astro Boy this afternoon. I really hope he actually sits through the entire movie. He has a bad habit of wanting to leave 1/2 way through the movie. I know he may get a little scared with some of the action. He keeps telling me that "Astro Boy has machine guns in his butt". Can't wait to see that if it's true.

Astro Boy the Movie
Has anyone gotten out to see this yet?

Ouran High School Host Club: Fujioka Haruhi and Ootori Kyouya

ouran high school host club cosplay - fujioka haruhi and ootori kyouya

The “Natural Type” and the “Cool Type” may not always meet eye to eye, but despite Kyouya’s harsh actions towards Haruhi, he truly does care about her as she does him. When the club went to the beach for some rest and relaxation, Kyouya pretended to be the “bad guy” in order to show Haruhi how worried everyone was about her.

This is so in character that it really makes me laugh! Mother is reprimanding her youngest child! But don’t tell Kyouya that, he might charge me for posting this picture. Haha! Great work!

Manga at Borders

I had to make sure we stopped at Borders this weekend. I had 40% off coupons and wanted to pick up some Manga for the flight back. I had read Otaku USA and Shonen Jump on the flights up. My son pretty much ripped Shonen Jump out of my hands just so he could get the Yu-Gi-Oh! card in the back of it.

I was shocked to see one of the Manhwa (Korean Manga) that I had been looking for in other stores - Shawan Warrior #8 by Park Joong-Ki. I could not find this anywhere and was about to order it off Amazon. It is an interesting read as to me it seems to mix American Indian and Japanese cultures together.

I also picked up 20th Century Boys #5 and Dance of the Vampire Bund #5. If I have time, I may try to get Fairy Tail #8.

Is there any Manga that you are having a hard time finding?

Quick Food Post - Sakura

I arrived safely and have been exhausted ever since. Got up at 3:30am to get to the airport, then we have Daylight Savings Time last night. Both of these have taken me out - I need so much sleep now.

Family is keeping me busy with seeing everyone and Halloween holidays. We are looking at getting an apartment here in Maryland. Taking a big chance on the current economy, but sometimes you have to take BIG steps.

We went out to dinner on Friday night at this place called Sakura. I was surprised my wife found a Sushi / Hibachi Restaurant in Western Maryland. I decided I wanted some sushi, and tried to find something out of the ordinary, but good. I went all crazy and got something called Mango Tuna Tartar. It is Chopped Orchid Tuna and fresh Mango, with Wasabi Sauce. It also had some black fish eggs on top and some white garnish that I could not figure out.

I was really shocked by what came out as it was a bit more than I anticipated. It definitely had a nice bite to it. The Mango gave it a nice sweet touch to the spicy tuna. Here are some iPhone shots of the plate as it arrived and "opened up".

It is crazy working on dail-up, but you have to work with what you have.

World of Warcraft: Valeera Sanguinar

unknown cosplay This is probably from another game that I have no clue about. There are so many MMORPGs lately that it’s really hard to keep up with everything that’s been going on as of late. I’m really glad a lot of the unknown cosplays are finally getting labeled and categorized properly.

So, guesses? My closest guess is that this is from Ragnarok, but other than that, your guess is as good as mine.

Help please?

EDIT: By popular opinion, this is a cosplay of Valeera Sanguinar from World of Warcraft! Thanks to Maddog for the comment, and the anons who agreed with him! (Or is it her?)
